Pearls are judged by their color, surface, nacre thickness, shape, size and luster. Good quality pearls should have high luster and good color. You can easily evaluate color properly when pearls are laid out on a champagne or white matte surface. Pearls come in several colors ranging from white, golden, cream, blues, green and violet.

Tradition

A young girl is given a pearl necklace with one, three or five pearls usually from a family member as a gift.
